Abstract:
Some active galactic nuclei exhibit large-scale, relativistic jets, believed to be launched near their central engines: supermassive black holes. How are these jets initiated? How can their dynamics be modeled and understood? And how can their emission features be characterized? In this talk, we will explore possible and popular answers to these theoretical questions in the community, within the framework of the magnetohydrodynamic (MHD) jet paradigm. We will also highlight some related studies we are currently working on.
