Abstract:
Cold molecular gas serves as the essential fuel for star formation, with both galactic and large-scale environments playing crucial roles in shaping star formation activity in galaxies. Recent surveys combining Integral Field Spectroscopy with millimeter observations provide unique opportunities to investigate the relationship between gas and star formation in galaxies at (sub)kiloparsec scales, bridging our understanding of physical processes across various scales. In this talk, I will highlight key findings from spatially resolved observations enabled by the ALMaQUEST survey. Additionally, I will discuss how these insights improve our understanding of the mechanisms driving star formation quenching in transitional galaxies, such as those in green valley and post-starburst phases.
